Just when I had convinced myself I would not modify my Sky, I happened to come across this. I wonder if I could convince the better half that this would be more practical in the "winter" seasons... What does Oppo think of it? Too Crossfire-y?

do it

Oh man... with that window it almost looks like a TVR sagaris...
Would the straight six from that car fit inside a solstice? If so, I might have a backdroor way to experience the Sagaris here in the US!

looks good! I'm not seeing too much crossfire.

I'm not a fan of the Kappa, but always find them pretty cool because of their hood that opens the opposite way. Just like a mini Corvette

It seems I read that a 2JZ bolts right up to the trans, so, as far as I'm concerned, close enough. Needs more weird fender vent thingies though.

Dammit...now I want one. Why they don't make something like this for the NC Miata???

If it makes you enjoy your car more, there's nothing wrong, :).
I have this odd desire to add a bull bar and rally lights to my pt cruiser, lol.

Do it that looks aswesome as all hell.

How can anything be too Crossfire-y?

I dig. Always preferred the look of the Sky compared to the Solstice, actually saw a Solstice GXP coupe the other morning, not sure that I'd ever seen one before.
But I digress, that looks cool.

Well, kits are available for LS swaps...

The crossfire wishes it looked that good. The crossfire wishes it looked half as good. The crossfire also wishes the sky redlines would stop beating it up so often. Then maybe all the other cars would like it.....and maybe he could finally get that miata's attention.....and he'd finally get some respect on the track team.
But then the crossfire wakes up in the morning to either a middle manager of a failing bank driving it 5,000 miles past the service interval on some boring suburban roads or to Milky sliding it into a curb after sacrificing a cheapo SC300 to the hoon gods.

I like it. You should do it!

Do it. And knobby tires. Is it a GT? Manual or auto?
Despite the awful chassis and ridiculous weight a PT Cruiser GT with a manual is a lot of fun.

Simply this. If you like it do it.

Auto, base model. I'm actually debating if I need to sell it, -_-.

That's tragic. My mom has an auto GT and the only good thing about it is the engine and novelty of a convertible.

My car has taken a beating, from accidents, to the engine being too cold to operate (10 degrees), from overheating. I'm surprised it still chugs along.

Do you know if it's possible to attach a bull bar to a pt cruiser? I know you can bolt it, but if you hit something your radiator is going to be dead. Is there a frame that it can be welded to?
![]() 07/21/2014 at 13:43 |

PVC + Duct tape.
Seriously, though. I'm not terribly familiar with the layout of the PT Cruiser. I leave my mom to her own devices with hers.

2JZs fit, S54s fit, and even LSx V8s fit. It seems like there's more than enough room for a straight six under there. I don't see why not! :)

Oh I like this Solstice one better! No duck tail sticking out the back is perfect!

I should have known it was Norm that would be making them. I already have a decent amount of money set aside for parts I want to order from him.

Hahaha, PVC isn't a bad idea. The bull bar is really being used as a mount for the lights. If you put them too high up, it won't be that useful (i forget why though).
I actually talked to a guy, via a forum, who put rally lights on his cruiser. Behold!
I sort of like it. And also, a cruiser with a bull bar that I found online...

I prefer the looks of the Sky but would gladly fork over lots of money for a GXP Coupe. I've seen a few standard SolCoupes, but never a GXP.
The more I look at it, the more I figure I could have the best of both worlds, better Sky styling and having an actual Coupe look.

With all the S2000 hardtops out there, and all the NA/NB hardtops/fastback conversions; I would be very surprised there isn't something like this for the NC.

I thought I had uploaded that picture in my C&C stuff yesterday, but I just checked Flickr and I didn't. It was cool looking. Not as cool as the Mallett Sols I've seen...but cool.
I've never seen that before though, is it still removable for top down motoring and such?

This is my Sky. Had the hartop made by Norms fiberglass. There are only two currently in the nation. I was a long process but once I got it the car finally had the look I was going for. The picture in one of the comments is also my top being mocked up on a Sky at Norm's. It was later painted black. Thanks for the article.

I wasn't a fan when I saw the pictures from the creator as well. Once painted black though it's not as noticeable.
